Black Georgia Votes is an extended advocacy focus from our recent GOTV/ voter education efforts in Fairburn GA. CEO, Samantha Hudson witnessed first-hand the impact of low voter turn-out in the City of Fairburn's 2021 Mayoral race that documented less than 18% turnout.
As a result, Fairburn Voters Matter, a voter election education initiative was created to educate Fairburn voters about the 2022 Georgia Midterm Primary Election Candidates and their platforms.
A candidate forum was held with 15/25 invited candidates attended in person with social media and live stream coverage for community members to watch and reference. To this regard, obtaining the grant award for extending this project to include SOUTH of I20 (local Black cities with low voter turnout).
