Monique Dozier Sharpe is the CEO of Vision Center of Hope and an Atlanta-based journalist, digital strategist, and producer. She brings a public health background to community programs and storytelling that center people of color. A Doctor of Traditional Naturopathy candidate, she develops practical, culturally grounded wellness offerings. She also led operations and marketing at New Wave Carpet & Tile Care. Her media brand, Adell LaShawn, focuses on horror and folklore through Slip Into Fear and serves as a platform for original stories, short films, and gothic photography.
Samantha L. Hudson, the Founder of Vision Center of Hope, Inc. She is a native of Chicago and Fairburn, GA. resident is a social worker, educator, policy professional, and community advocate with 20 years of public service. A leader of change, her philosophical belief is, “Change doesn’t happen until we act.”
Ms. Hudson has spent her entire professional career serving individuals, families, and communities. As a social worker and educator, she celebrates success in improving the quality of life for at-risk families, advocating against social injustices and for educational equity. These efforts yielded success in:
· Increasing permanency outcomes for children in foster care.
· Achieved 100% student growth in literacy and writing 2021-2022 academic school year.
· Facilitated the first 2022 Midterm Primary Election candidate forum in Fairburn, GA with 17 confirmed and attended candidates and
· Organized water distribution during Fairburn, GA. Water crisis December 2022.
A social justice advocate who seeks to make positive impact is currently leading the following initiatives:
· The Black Georgia Vote Project-increasing voter participation for Black disenfranchised voters.
· Addressing the housing disparities for youth in foster care and
· Current research project addressing school discipline policy and its impact on school achievement rates.
